“We have always succeeded but we think out of the box to sustain success”
I established the firm in 1987, and traded successfully for many years gaining a wealth of experience, and business knowledge, leading to the recent expansion over the last 3 years from one practice to four. This is purely due to evolving and responding to the economic climate and offering a wide range of services to better meet client’s needs.
Property development, tennis (I play for Norfolk), and supporting Manchester United takes up most of my spare time. I am very competitive and enjoy all sports.
The ethics of Steve Pye & Co are still the same 27 years later. I set up in practice to gain more involvement with clients and to really help them on a day to day basis. Clearly the business has expanded and now I have client managers to assist in this role, but the underlying mission remains.
ACCA qualified at the age of 21, I worked in a firm of local accountants and then industry. I didn’t enjoy the traditional accountant’s environment so diversified into manufacturing at Ross Youngs. I progressed from Purchase Ledger clerk to Financial Accountant until I needed part time work to look after a family. Nervously I began working for Steve and Christine in private practice again and found it to be totally different. I enjoy every day, and although working long hours I’m proud of the expansion and environment we have achieved for our staff. Very different from where I started.
I try to keep fit, achieved the Great North Run, but unfortunately love chocolate! (has to be Cadbury’s) Family life is hectic and I find it hard to relax, but I look forward to 2 weeks in the sun and escape to the Spa as much as possible.
Whilst Steve was setting up in business I worked full time as Payroll Manager for Anglian Water. When the role moved location I took redundancy and began working in the office with Steve. Seeing the business evolve I have gained knowledge in all areas and as Practice Manager I oversee all offices and staff. I deal with all the new strategies we find and ensure planning is done timely and efficiently.
I have always had an artistic flair, and enjoy drawing and painting. I also enjoy reading, movies and walking our dog Alaska. I join Steve in his passion for Manchester United and enjoy all sports.
